Wheel Pottery

Wheel Pottery seems extremely tricky but it’s surprisingly simple. It’s helpful to understand the science of how it works. But more than anything else, you really just need to center yourself. The steadiness of an artist is passed on to the clay and the clay starts to take shape. The trick is to gently even out the pressure on the clay and allow it to follow your directions. It demands patience and perseverance.

Pottery is therapeutic. Pottery allows an artist to be in the moment. The artist exudes positive energy and peace through the workshop. I had an opportunity to take pictures of my teacher while she was working on her latest sculptures.
